We are going to show you how to make your first blog. So, go to www.blogger.com.
If you already have a Google account you will be taken to screen that looks like the one in the example. Click on New Blog. For example, our blog is all about golf improvements. You want to come up with a good title for your niche market.
It will tell you if the title is available. Once you get one that works, you can choose a simple template. Go to Create a Blog. That is all you have to do, it is very simple. It does integrate automatically with Google Plus.
Next, go to where it says Start Posting.
This is where you will put in your very first post. This is where you will share your first bit of information. You will give each post a title. Make sure the article on the topic is unique and keyword rich.
If you take an article from a directory such as EzineArticles, make sure you give the author credit.
If you have the article on your computer or you use someone else’s article, you will need to copy it and then paste it into Blogger.com. The formatting may be changed when you paste it so you will need to play around with it and make sure it looks nice. Again, give credit where it is due if you use someone else’s article. You also want to keep their links in place.
It isn’t advisable for the long term to get into the habit of using someone else’s content. You want to get into the habit of writing your own. You can use theirs to start though to get some filler content for your blog.
Click Save and Publish.
You can automatically share it to Google Plus
You should start getting some traction from this blog post. If you open up a window on that blog, you can click on it and refresh. The next thing you want to do is add in some content above that article. You can do that to brand it. If you use someone else’s article, you can say something about why you like it or why you used it on your blog.
You should also have your affiliate link incorporated in the articles that you place on your blog. That is how you are going to be making sales. Go to www.clickbank.com and find any product you want to promote.
Just put in your affiliate ID and click Create.
You will get a link that you can copy and paste in your Blogger.com article for your blog. For affiliate links, you want to add the URL no follow attribute as that will help you in the long run.
You will notice that your blog now has a unique title, your own paragraph that describes it, the article, and your affiliate link. That is very smooth and comes together nicely. Inside of Blogger.com there are plenty of possibilities. You can add pages to your blog, you can change the layout, you can play with the templates.
You will notice that there are many layouts to consider with the templates.
In addition to content, you can add in additional content. You can add About Us or contact information. You can also go to Gadgets and add a variety of them. You can add AdSense, HTML, etc.
To add a gadget, just click the plus sign next to it.
Next, you can plug in your opt in form. We will get it from www.listwire.com and login. Go to Choose Autoresponder then Prospects then Description Form.
Go to Get Code and get the Java script code.
Copy the code shown.
Paste that code into Blogger, and hit Save.
Now you can go into it to look at the blog and make sure it shows up accurately.
If it doesn’t fit properly, you may want to go back to Listwire.com and create a new form that is smaller in size. You don’t have to but it may look nicer. You can also select another type of form to use. They don’t have to match. If you create a new one, it will generate a new code. That is what you copy and paste back to the Blogger.com form.
Now you have added a list building element to your website. It is only going to show up once per visit so that it won’t SPAM people. That is one of the ways that you can add elements within the sections here through Add a Gadget. You can select where you want it to display. It can be the top, side, etc. You get the idea.
You can also add images for example.
Go back to www.clickbank.com and you will notice that most of the products that you can promote do have a squeeze page. You will notice that they often have images and even e-covers your can use. Grab a code for one that you would like to use on your sight.
Right click and choose the image link. Go to properties to get that address and then copy it.
Go back to Blogger.com and to where the image element is showing up. Choose Image from a Link.
When people click on that link, it will take them to your affiliate link. Open up Clickbank again and grab your affiliate link. Paste that into the link section and give it a title, then Save.
The element has been added, and you want to check it out in View My Blog after you refresh. The image should show up. When you are done with any changes, make sure you hit the Save button. Always do Save Arrangement after you make a change or it won’t keep it for you.
For this example, we added a banner and we have our blog archive there. We have our Google Plus button and you can test your link. It should take people right on into the website. It should work seamlessly. If we go back into the website, for example, you can remove an element by clicking on edit and remove.
Make sure you click Save Arrangement.
We have the About Me section and you want to refresh and make sure everything looks good as you make changes and updates.
One last thing to worry about with blogging, is to make sure you look at your template. For this example, we used a very basic only.
You can go with any style that you want, there are plenty of them to pick from and lots of variety. Just hit Apply to Blog when you find one you would like to use.
You can actually use this Blogger.com site now that you have it set up as you need. When it is time to add more content, go to where it says New Post.
