100 Lessons About How to Earn Extra Money Online
Part VIII. Freelancing Using
Freelancing Micro Job Sites
1. Micro Job Sites
In this lesson we will be talking about micro job sites.
In previous lessons, we learned what freelancing is and what types of services you can offer for people. We covered freelancing websites and the thousands of potential jobs they offer for you. We also offered freelancing tips you can incorporate to find more freelancing jobs and to win bids.
This lesson is really going to open your eyes to even more opportunities you can tap into as a freelancer. Once we get done with this module, you are going to realize there are literally an unbelievable amount of opportunity for you to make money as a freelancer. The beauty of all of it is that it isn’t going to cost you anything to get started.
Just so we are clear here; micro job sites are small gig sites. They aren’t full blown freelance site like those we have covered. They are an excellent way to kick start your freelance income or career. You can use the methods mentioned in part #3 and the micro job sites themselves to generate the revenue. You can have multiple methods of passive income that just rolls in month after month for you.
Make money at the same time with freelance sites and micro job sites. These smaller sites offer jobs that you can get small fees for. For example, you will be writing jobs of just a few articles rather than in batches of 10 or 20 at a time. You may create just one article at a time or one logo for them.
You can create a short testimonial video for someone or keyword research. Design an e-book cover or install WordPress, etc.
You can find on the micro job sites ways to make money that you can’t really do on the larger freelance sites. One of the most popular ones is www.fiverr.com. It is one of the most popular sites in the world to get something done for a price starting at $5! For example, people will create a video or a WordPress for $5.
The possibilities are endless, and you can post what you are willing to offer. If there is a service, you can post it. If you have any bizarre skills, post it at www.fiverr.com as they are very popular. One guy can translate a text from English to German up to 500 words for $5.
Another person has an interesting service – press releases for $5. But she is only writing 50 words for that amount. The job continues to state that you need at least 300 words so that means she will earn $30.
She is able to offer them additional submissions for that additional price. So that is how you get around that $5 cap. You can see from the pricing that she has added on extras that make it worth the value. She can offer a press release that is able to get published and that is really an inexpensive price. She will also submit it for distribution for an additional $50.
Instead of a $5 gig here, she is able to offer a variety of services. The gig gets people involved in what she has to offer. However, it can quickly become a $50 or more purchase for a person that she is going to work for. Take notes here on how this works because Fiverr is really good about allowing you to add on such extras and you want to benefit from them.
She is able to make this into a full time opportunity for herself with these up sales by offering such types of services. Press release services do very well on various freelance sites and micro job sites.
Another lady is doing very well on her blog that she writes daily. For $5, she will mention your blog there too. So that is an inexpensive way for you to get some exposure for your blog. She is already writing her blog, so she is making money without doing much at all but plugging that blog link for her readers to follow.
Writing is also a great way to get someone in the door. Then you can add up sale offers to increase the word count, to add SEO, etc. You can even add a feature to charge more if they need the content expedited. These are all referred to as gig extras, so there is so much more potential at www.fiverr.com than just making $5.
Now that you have a good idea of what Fiverr can offer, let’s go check out how to get started there. On the top right, there is an option to sign up and to start selling.
You can click Create a Gig once your account is set up. There is nothing difficult here and it is easy to set things up. Just describe what your gig is that you offer.
If you know another language, it does very well on this site. Select the category where your gig fits. Then you can add your photo in the gig gallery. Offer a short description of what you offer and your skills. Make sure you tell people what they can get out of your services so be thorough.
Once you are set up on Fiverr, post to your social media accounts. Let your friends and other contents know what you offer there. Another site to look at that is very established is similar, called www.fourerr.com, and as you can guess the price is $4.
Another site to look at is www.gigbucks.com. It is almost identical to those but has lots of opportunity for you to sell your services.
There are plenty of things completely off the wall. There is a guy that will bark like a dog and walk backwards like a chicken for $5! You can do off the wall stuff in addition to your regular tasks so that can be a fun way for you to make money. You want to do the various gigs long term, but if you have an odd talent you can use it to make money on these sites.
On the left hand side at www.gigbucks.com, there is a listing of all the opportunities you can offer for people. There is advertising, writing, gift ideas, all kinds of possibilities. There are so many different things you can do. One of the awesome features of this site, and Fiverr offers it too.. on the left hand side there is a micro job request.
You can click on it and you will find listings where you can complete small jobs. One of them is to bid for up to $20 to offer advice or something on what someone is seeking. With this tool, you will find that few people know about it. If you are the first or one of the first to bid, then you can attract that buyer and get the job.
They do this because they don’t want to take the time to go through all the gigs and find someone. So they reach out to others and they hope that bidders will come to them. Another similar type of site is www.imgigz.com (im is for Internet Marketing). You won’t find off the wall stuff here but you will find plenty of services that can be offered that buyers want.
If you were to do a search for PLR that you have on your hard drive, you can offer it for $5. You already have the rights to give it away. Browse through www.imgigz.com and you will see plenty of possibilities for you. Another one to look at is www.seoclerks.com.
Here, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is a site dedicated to this type of work to help someone maximize the potential of their website.
For example, someone is charging $6 to do a signal Copyscape of an article up to 500 words. She has a good headline and she has an image photo on her account. Copyscape is a good deal because people want to make sure that what they pay for is high quality, unique and not copied or rehashed. For an extra $2, she will get you the article within 24 hours.
If the sites I gave you aren’t enough for you to find work, do a Google search.
You will find so many micro job sites. One of them is www.gigbux.com which is a unique spelling and another site to look at. Another kind of website that is different is www.clickchores.com where you will find small jobs and tasks.
These are small, small jobs such as linking a Facebook page. They pay very little but it all adds up. You may be asked to find a phrase and click a link. You may be asked to do a Google search and then click on a listing and stay on the page for 30 seconds. They may be paying you for that because they are doing what it takes to show to Amazon and Google that their product is getting attention.
They can ask you to follow someone on Twitter or to retweet something. They may ask you comment on Yahoo Answers to a given question. These are very simple services that you can do for people. Again, these jobs don’t pay very much but they are simple to complete and the money does add up.
If you go to www.clickchores.com, the sign up process is very simple. Just follow the steps.
If you can post on social media, write articles, and if you can work your computer you can do these micro gig tasks. A very popular one is from Amazon called www.mturk.com and you will be able to make money through doing various tasks. On the left hand side, you can sign up and then see the types of jobs. It is very similar to www.clickchores.com.
The action step for this lesson is to sign up for one micro job site. Doesn’t matter which one you prefer. Start taking action getting some work and seeing some revenue for yourself. If you choose Fiverr, I hope that you consider doing gig extras. This will really allow you to expand on the services you provide and the money you can make.
