Traffic from Hub Pages
1. Ways to Promote your Videos
In this lesson, we are going to go through the process of creating a hub on hub pages.
First, I wanted to show you what a finished Squidoo lens looks like. It is part of the Web 2.0 hub pages that we were talking about. You can actually within Squidoo include a link to Wix.com or Weebly. They often look down upon blogger links. The nice thing is you can use a blogger link in the RSS feed so you can still get it out there.
Let’s to go www.hubpages.com to make a Web 2.0 hub. This is a very popular site. If you go to Join Now you can set up your account by entering your information. You will need to enter your name and email address. You will also need to create a password. Next, you have to agree to their terms and conditions. Complete the form to verify you are human and that should get you signed up.
This is what it looks like when you login to your hub pages account. Look for Beginners Start here and click on it. This will take you through how to write valuable online content. They explain to you the type of content they are looking for. You want to create really good, search engine friendly content. It needs to be clean and loaded with value for your readers.
Go to Create a Hub in the top right corner. Your hub title will be your main topic. For this example, golf swing exercises. For hub topic, they will give you some suggestions and you can choose from the list. For hub format, you can select a basic article for this example.
You need to make sure you use 100% unique content. The hub is a way to get exposure to the website and to yourself. Eventually, you can send them to your own website but you don’t want to do that right away.
You can add different types of content to your blog by clicking on Edit.
You need a sentence or two for the description. Then you need to enter a subtitle that is relevant to your niche. Then you can copy and paste in your article. Keep in mind, it needs to be 100% unique content. Otherwise, it won’t work correctly. You can’t copy from article directories or use PLR.
You can add bullet points in your writing or you can make something bold. Whatever you want to do in order to spice it up. Click Save when you are done. Make sure the comments is enabled so that people can share what they think.
You can add a poll for example, similar to what we did for Squidoo.
You can display answers by bar graph or pie graph. It is up to you and then once you select you can Save.
You also have the opportunity to add in your own video. This is a very good chance to get yourself exposure without SPAM as you will add your own video link. You want to embed your video and you want to go to YouTube to find that video. Copy and paste that video link to your Hubpages account. Now you have a video that shows up as well.
We can add in all sorts of additional information if you want to. You can add in ratings or links to additional resources.
You can try to put in a Blogger.com link or a Wix.com link. Their rules always change so you have to experiment to see what will work.
Now you have two links that show up on the Hubpage. They may ask you to put in more content based on what you have already entered. If they don’t, you can click on Publish. There are so many modules that you can take a look at and edit.
Before you can publish, you do have to enter your phone number. This is for verification and they will either call or text you. They will give you a verification code that you have to enter. Once you do so, then you can publish your Hubpages. Your URL link will be at the top of the page. This site relies on 100% unique content which makes it a good Web 2.0 hub page creator to use.
