1. How to Create a Screen Capture Style Video

In this lesson, I am going to show you step by step how to create a screen capture style video.

You can use it for your own products or you can use it in your marketing. For this example, we are going to use OpenOffice Impress. Only because it isn’t as well-known and it is a completely free solution. It works very well in this system.

Open up OpenOffice Impress and select Empty Presentation from the radio button in the Presentation Wizard. You can choose your background.

You can decide what you want to go with. You can go with original or change it. There is a preview if you want to go with any of the background options. This gives you an idea of what it will end up looking like on the right hand side as you scroll through the options.

The next thing to look at is the effect, and I do suggest a little bit of slide transition. It does kind of engage people. For this example, we will go with fast. For default, leave it as it is. Then click create.

You will find that it looks very similar to Microsoft PowerPoint. On the right hand side there are layout options that you can pick from.

For this example, we are going to use Natural Acne Cures as the title. You can use effects such as bold and italics and even some shadowing. Then you can create the next slide where you can add in your own content. Click the box to start adding your text.

Try to make it look nice such as right justified. The right hand side has tools that help you with the alignment. You can do so vertically, at the center, etc. Start typing in your content here. You can make changes to the layout as you go. Select bullets and numbering so that you can use them to help you with the key points on your slides.

Shift and enter at the same time will put spaces between your typed text. This is a simple way to add some spacing between the bullet points you typed. You can also highlight your content. On the right hand side, select custom animations. Then add, and check the box for what you want from the options.

I do recommend that on your introduction slide, you do include content that tells people what your website link is. You can also put your URL at the very bottom of each slide in a much smaller font than your bullet points. You will be able to gain traffic from this as people can go to that URL from your YouTube videos.

When you are ready to do a new slide, just click on a new one on the left hand side. If you want to keep them all the same format, you can just copy the first slide and use it as a template before you start entering text.

Add filler content that is relevant. Give it some sizzle and spice. That is what it really boils down to. You don’t need to worry about having fancy backgrounds or anything like that. When you are done, click Slideshow at the top.

Then you can watch how your slides look, how the transitions are, and how it all comes together. This gives you an overview of how you can use OpenOffice Impress to create your presentation video.

Once we are done here, it is time to get out there and actually record your video. We will cover that in the very next step. For now, you want to get familiar with either OpenOffice Impress or Microsoft PowerPoint.

Here is another part of OpenOffice Impress that I really like. You can go to File > Save As > when you are done with your changes. You can actually save it as a PDF option. In Microsoft, you can save it as PowerPoint or as PDF. Here, you can export it directly as a PDF.

If you wanted to give your PowerPoint slide as a bonus, you could do that. You can also upload your PDF to document sharing sites. This is how you get started with creating your video marketing presentation video. We are going to show you the recording process in the next lessons.
